Trendspotting at Gateway :D

Spending the afternoon people watching on the day Eclipse is being premiered isn't a fun way to spend today's holiday.

Amidst fangirls wearing their Twilight t-shirts with "Team Edward", "Team Jacob", and "Team Rocket" emblazoned on them, I still had to find somebody who sets a trend and unfortunately, it wasn't that easy.

I was sipping on a tea latte at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf when I chanced on this guy and his family sitting on the table next to mine. So I thought, why the hell not, and took his picture.

The 90's are back with an emphasis on comfort over style, plaids and denim jeans. He's wearing a polo from Banana Republic and jeans from People are people, which are reminiscent of the Grunge fashion that emerged in the 90's and popularized by grunge bands and singers such as Kurt Cobaine.

When you see anybody wearing Vans shoes along with a beanie like he is in the picture, there's a chance that they're sporting skater fashion. With the rise of 90's fashion, I suppose this look would reemerge along with Grunge.

Overall, he seems to be 100% comfortable and confident in his clothes and isn't afraid to show it.
